Jaden Smith Receives Mixed Reactions After Sharing Video Of Himself Crying Online: I Should Write Something About Emotions & How They’re Okay
Jaden Smith isn’t afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve.
On Valentine’s Day, the 24-year-old entertainer shared a video with his 19.4 million IG followers showing his vulnerable side. During the short clip, Jaden Smith appears to be emotional as he takes a moment to cry it out while standing outside. In the caption of the post, the “Icon” rapper explains why he uploaded the video online.
“I Love My Fans I Love Our Journeys This Family is Our Fortress. I Should write something about emotions and how they’re okay or whatever but honestly I just found this video in my phone.”

It’s unclear what caused Jaden to cry at that moment. However, despite the video being shared to seemingly encourage people not to be embarrassed by their feelings, it has received mixed reactions from viewers. One fan jokingly wrote in the comment section of the video,
“The unemployed friend on a Tuesday afternoon”

Another viewer, who also seemingly didn’t take the video seriously, said,
“This is not what Jackie Chan taught you”

The comment appears to be in reference to Jaden’s 2010 film “Karate Kid,” which also stars Jackie Chan. Some critics of the video asked Jaden “why” he even shared the footage online at all.

Thankfully, all the comments weren’t negative. Actress Yvette Nicole Brown left a heartfelt message and said,
“This is so beautiful. If more boys and men realized that there’s nothing wrong with experiencing the full range of human emotions the world would be a much better place. But that can only begin when the rest of us provide a safe space for them when they do. Sadly, some of these comments perpetuate the lie that something is wrong with a human being BEING a human being. No matter their gender, race or creed, EVERYONE deserves the right to cry.”

Another person said,
“Instead of making fun of him y’all should comfort lil bro I wish I could talk to him I’d listen to em sometimes we need people to listen to us and be heard without judgment”
