Lil Mosey Found Not Guilty Of Rape, Rapper Reacts To Verdict: ‘I’m Happy To Say That God Finally Brought The Truth To Light’
Lil Mosey was able to clear his name and is no longer facing life behind bars.
According to reports, the trial for rapper Lil Mosey, born Lathan Echols, kicked off last month. The 21-year-old rapper was facing second-degree rape charges for allegedly having sex with a woman at a party in Washington on Jan. 6, 2020, while she was incapable of consenting due to intoxication.
According to the accuser, the alleged incident occured in January 2021 when she and a friend went to a cabin to see Lil Mosey. The affidavit stated that while in a vehicle the alleged victim consented to have sex with the “Noticed” rapper.
However, once inside the cabin, she eventually blacked out due to drinking too much. The woman said that a short time later Mosey got on top of her and raped her. She noted having pain in her leg muscles while Mosey pushed her legs apart.
She allegedly blacked out again and woke up to find another man – Joshua Darrow, 20, – forcing himself on her. Reportedly, her friend claimed to be raped by the men that night as well.
Today (March 2) a jury found Lil Mosey not guilty in the rape case. The rapper – who was facing life in prison if convicted – pled not guilty and has maintained his innocence this entire time. He also reportedly passed a polygraph test.
Lil Mosey has seemingly responded to the verdict via his IG. He captioned his latest post,
“Spent 2 years of my life going thru the storm and I’m happy to say that God finally brought the truth to light. Thank you”
