Update: Tim Norman, Ex ‘Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s’ Star, Sentenced To Life In Federal Prison For Murder-For-Hire Plot Against His Nephew

Update: (March 2, 2023): Tim Norman will be spending the rest of his life behind bars.

According to reports, the former “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” star was sentenced to life in federal prison for orchestrating the murder-for-hire plot against his nephew, Andre Montgomery Jr., in 2016.

Norman was ultimately found guilty on all charges, including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, murder-for-hire resulting in death, and mail fraud. He was given two life sentences today (March 2) for the murder-for-hire counts and a 240-month sentence for the count of mail fraud.

The sentencing may come as a shock to the TV star. As you may recall, last month he took to his IG page to express he was innocent. He claimed,

And not one person got on the stand and said that I told them to hurt my nephew. They destroyed my name and image so you guys wouldn’t search for the truth.”

Original story: (Feb. 23, 2023): Tim Norman is proclaiming his innocence.

The former Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s star claimed his innocence in the murder-for-hire plot against his nephew on Instagram today (Feb. 23), posting for the first time in nearly three years.

Tim Norman said,

“Thank you for all the prayers. I’m still in disbelief. The feds know 100% I did not do those insurance policies. But the jury didn’t get to hear that. And not one person got on the stand and said that I told them to hurt my nephew. They destroyed my name and image so you guys wouldn’t search for the truth.”

As previously reported, Tim Norman is accused of orchestrating the killing of his nephew, 21-year-old Andre Montgomery, in 2016. Prosecutors allege that Norman hired Travell Anthony Hill, the shooter, as well as Terica Ellis, an exotic dancer from Memphis, to lure Montgomery and kill him.

Norman allegedly obtained $450,000 worth of life insurance policies for his nephew with the help of insurance agent Waiel Yaghnam. Yaghnam is a former hip-hop producer who made chart-topping beats for Nelly, but has since become an insurance broker.

Yaghnam,Yaghnam, Hill, and Ellis all pleaded guilty to their parts in the alleged conspiracy.

A judge sentenced Ellis to three years in prison in January for her involvement in Montgomery‘s death. Last July, she pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. In her testimony, Ellis claimed that Norman paid her $10,000 to help him find Montgomery. She obliged, and Norman shared his nephew’s location with Hill.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, U.S. District Judge John Ross said several factors went into Ellis receiving a three-year sentence — despite initially facing 20 years — including the fact that she was forced into prostitution at a young age. Judge Ross also took into consideration Ellis’ testimony against Norman, noting that said the former reality TV star likely would have succeeded in the murder-for-hire plot with or without her help.

In addition to Ellis, Yaghnam was sentenced to three years in prison in November after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. Hill was sentenced to 32 years in October.

Norman is the son of Robbie Montgomery or Miss Robbie. Their popular reality series Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s ran on the Oprah Winfrey Network for nine seasons.

Norman was found guilty in September of charges including conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and murder for hire. His sentencing is slated for March.
