Matt Barnes’ Ex-Wife Gloria Govan Ordered To Pay Close To $200K To Lawyers Who Helped Her Divorce The Basketball Star
Gloria Govan has to cough up a lot of money in legal fees.
According to RadarOnline, the former “Basketball Wives” star was ordered by a Los Angeles Superior Court to pay $197,774.62 to the lawyers who helped her during her divorce with retired NBA star Matt Barnes.
Reportedly, Gloria Govan, 38, was sued by the law firm Brot, Gross & Fishbein a year ago for unpaid invoices for the work they did on her divorce from her ex-husband. After Gloria Govan seemingly refused to pay for the service, the firm hired a process server to locate the former reality star. Her ex-attorneys initially requested that she pay $250,000 to cover the debt and their legal fees. However, the court ultimately awarded the firm $187k in principal and another $10k in fees.
As previously reported, Matt Barnes and Govan tied the knot in 2013 but called it quits in 2015. The ex-couple, who share twin boys together, settled their divorce in 2016, a year after Matt Barnes had a dispute with former NBA star Derek Fisher for allegedly sleeping with Govan.
Six years later, Derek Fisher, 48, and Govan walked down the aisle together in Malibu, California. Reportedly, her ex and husband have made up and are now on good terms.
However, earlier this year, Barnes, 43, wound up in more drama.
As previously reported, he was granted a temporary restraining order against David Patterson Jr., the ex-husband of his fiancée Anansa Sims, after spitting on him during a 49ers vs. Cowboys playoff game. The order stated that David Patterson Jr. must not contact Barnes and must stay up to 100 yards away from him. In addition, he was ordered to have no firearms.
