Kim Kardashian Accused Of Exploiting Her Children After Filing Trademarks For Toy & Skincare Line Under North West’s Name

Kim Kardashian is being criticized as she steps into her momager role. 

The reality star-turned-entrepreneur is facing backlash after seemingly taking notes from her mother/manager Kris Jenner as she helps her own daughter North West step into the world of business.

Kim Kardashian has reportedly filed four new trademarks under North West’s name in order for her nine-year-old to launch her skincare and toy lines. Reportedly, the trademark filing says that North’s toy business will have “toy figures, doll accessories, dolls, drawing toys, infant toys, mechanical action toys, play sets for action figures, soft sculpture toys, [and] bath toys.”

The toy line will focus on,

“children’s educational toys for developing fine motor and cognitive skills, musical toys, toy food, toy cookware, baby gyms, playground balls, and sport balls.”

The details of the filings also state that Kim Kardashian filed two trademarks for skincare merchandise and two others relating to promotion and entertainment services.

Since the filings have been publicized, there have been talks of Kim exploiting North West for her own financial benefits, with many social media users claiming a minor being the face of a skincare company is “ridiculous.”

The outrage behind North running a skincare company appears to stem from arguments that acne more than likely won’t occur until an individual hits puberty, and the young socialite has yet to do so. 

The mom-and-daughter duo currently share a TikTok account @kimandnorth which has generated over 15 million followers so far.

It’s important to note that, despite the recent backlash, North isn’t the only child Kim has filed trademarks for. Reportedly, the 42-year-old has filed trademarks for her three other children, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 3, as well.

Last November reports stated that the “SKIMS” CEO filed 12 trademarks under Psalm’s name, which included toddler products, skincare, watches, and others. Chicago and Saint West also have multiple trademarks in their name for toys, fashion brands, and skincare.

As previously reported, Kardashian welcomed her four children throughout her previous romance with rapper and fashion designer Kanye West, 45. After being married for six years, the ex-couple called it quits and their divorce was finalized in March 2022.
