Niecy Nash Tearfully Pleads For Gun Reform While Reflecting On Her Brother’s School Shooting Death After Recent Nashville Tragedy

American citizens continue to speak out amid another tragic mass shooting.

In the wake of the Nashville Christian School incident that claimed the lives of 6, actress Niecy Nash took to social media to mourn the lives lost, as well as her brother who was killed in the same manner back in 1993.

Niecy Nash, 53, welled with tears while reflecting on the murder spree that happened yesterday March 27th. As we previously reported, a woman blasted her way into The Covenant School in Tennessee, killing three 9-year-old children and three adults. The “Claws” star questioned why gun control is still such a pressing issue, 30 years after her only brother Michael Ensley was killed on school grounds at the age of 17. She said in the video:

“In 1993, my only brother was killed on his high school campus because somebody brought a gun to school…It’s 2023, and there [are] babies who will never make it home to see their parents.”

The Golden Globe nominee additionally highlighted a few current political agendas, notably less important than issues surrounding gun control. Nash spoke about policies regarding drag shows and critical race theory currently prominent in southern states, and how they are seemingly being used to deter citizens from the assault weapons problem. She added:

“These are the wrong things. It’s the wrong thing, and it is indeed the wrong time. We are losing our way…Some political groups are so focused on the wrong thing that our children are dying. And there ain’t no coming back from that… Not even a little bit.”

Michael Ensley attended Reseda High School in California where he was murdered in a school mass shooting on February 22, 1993. Nash also shed tears for her sole sibling around this time last year, following the Uvalde Texas school shooting that claimed the lives of 21.

At the end of her Tik Tok video, the TV star sent condolences to the families affected by the tragedy. She concluded:

“I am so sorry. And my prayers go out to those families, ’cause it’s a pain that I don’t wish on nobody. School is the one place where children should be safe. Now, they’ll be safe getting on an airplane. But school? That’s another thing. And it shouldn’t be.”
