NBA YoungBoy To Host Live Stream Album Release Party While On House Arrest
Looks like NBA YoungBoy isn’t letting his house arrest stop him from celebrating his upcoming studio album “Don’t Try This At Home.”
According to reports, the 23-year-old Baton Rouge rapper, real name Kentrell Gaulden, will be throwing an album release party in Los Angeles while he’s currently under house arrest in Utah.
Reportedly, sources close to NBA YoungBoy said the event is set to take place on Thursday, April 20 at Elevate Lounge in downtown Los Angeles and the rap star’s team is paying $200,000 to rent the party space.
In addition, 50 Cent’s Branson Cognac will reportedly serve as a sponsor with sounds provided by DJ Carisma for the evening. There will also be a fan raffle where the winner gets to talk to NBA YoungBoy over the stream during the party.
The Hollywood celebration will reportedly be held while the “Lonely Child” rapper is several hundred miles away due to his house arrest sentence that stems from a 2020 gun possession charge.
You may recall, YoungBoy was initially subject to limitations put in place by Judge Shelly Dick in 2021 due to gun charges in Louisiana. While he was allowed to move to Utah as a condition of his supervised parole, he had to refrain from owning a firearm and comply with drug tests.
Recently, YoungBoy was given fewer restrictions on his house arrest order.
As previously reported, Judge Shelly Dick changed two of the terms of YoungBoy’s supervised release, permitting him to have more than three visitors at his home and removing the curfew.
The judge wrote,
“The Court issues this written Order modifying condition number 18 and condition number 19 of the Order Setting Conditions of Release, Document 142 filed on October 27, 2021, for the Defendant, [NBA YoungBoy].”
She added,
“It is hereby ordered that condition number 18 and condition number 19 of the Defendant’s Order Setting Conditions of Release are modified as follows: (18) No more than three persons may visit Gaulden at his home at any time. (19) No visitors are allowed at the Defendant’s home before 7 a.m. or after 9 p.m. ‘Home’ is defined as the Defendant’s residence and all property and appurtenances of the residence. It is so ordered. Signed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this 15th day of March 2023.”
