Update: ‘Black Panther’ Star Tenoch Huerta Exits Netflix Production Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Update: (Jun. 22, 2023): “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” star Tenoch Huerta has decided to step down from his latest role amid allegations of sexual assault.

As previously reported, A woman recently came forward and called Tenoch Huerta a “sexual predator” and a “narcissist.”

Soon after she went public with her accusations, Tenoch Huerta released a statement denying everything. According to the actor, his accuser is an ex who “began to misrepresent” their “interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends” after they broke up. He added,

As a result, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to commence the appropriate actions to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false accusations that can cause great prejudice and damage.

However, even though Huerta has maintained his innocence, he’s still taking a break from Hollywood. In a statement explaining why he’s exiting production on the forthcoming Netflix film, “Fiesta en la Madriguera,” he expressed,

“Given the impact of the recent false statements by María Elena Ríos and the damage they have caused, I have no choice but to withdraw from participating in the film Fiesta en la Madriguera. It is with great sadness that I do this, but I cannot allow her actions to harm not only me, but also the work of dozens of talented and hard-working people involved in the project.”

He added,

“My focus now is simple: continue the process of restoring my reputation.”

Original story: (Jun. 12, 2023): “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” star Tenoch Huerta didn’t waste any time setting the record straight on the recently surfaced sexual assault allegation made against him.

Over the weekend musician María Elena Ríos accused the Marvel actor of being a “sexual predator” and a “narcissist.” The Spanish-written tweet translates to,

“It is very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved in the world for playing a character in a movie like
@TenochHuerta

Charming in appearance, the great hallmark of a narcissist + a good helping of victimization.”

Reportedly, María Elena Ríos also accused Poder Prieto – an activist group she and Tenoch Huerta were both once involved with – of “protecting” the actor. In a follow-up tweet, she explained why she waited to report Tenoch Huerta and said,

“They say those who live in a macho country, where justice is unattainable where they almost kill you and still they don’t believe you or justice comes.”

However, according to Huerta, the musician’s claims are “irresponsible and false.” In a lengthy statement shared via his social accounts, the 42-year-old entertainer said,

“About a year ago, I dated Elena for several months. It was entirely consensual at all times, as countless others can attest,”

He described the nature of their relationship as “loving, warm and mutually supportive.”

He continued,

“After it ended, however, Elena began to misrepresent our interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends.

As a result, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to commence the appropriate actions to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false accusations that can cause great prejudice and damage.

Huerta then expressed that he’s “by no means perfect” but the “allegations are simply untrue.”

He added,

“I am deeply grateful to my family and the people who have supported me and greatly appreciate everyone who is willing to look at the facts and reflect before rushing to an untrue and unjust conclusion.”
