Erica Banks Reveals She’s No Longer w/ 1501 Certified Entertainment + Claims Label Owes Her Money
Another known rapper has cut ties with 1501 Certified Entertainment.
Earlier today (Jun. 28) Erica Banks, 24, shared snippets of unreleased tracks with her 514K Instagram followers. For the caption of the post, the Texas native asked her fans who they think should be featured on the tunes. One media user replied to the “Buss It” artist and took the moment to express that 1501 Certified Entertainment is dropping the ball when it comes to her promotion and backing. They wrote,
“I just think she need a new label !! 1501 don’t know what they doing !! The girl hard 1501 for tik tok kids lord hope she drop them bet she come up more”

Well, it looks like the fan might have been on to something. Erica Banks addressed their comment and said,
“I’m not with them anymore”

In the first song she previewed, Erica Banks seemingly touched on issues with 1501 and revealed that her now ex-label owes her money. She raps,
“Give a f*ck about that label, they see me.
And they owe me some money, they greedy.”

Despite Erica’s comment, the official Instagram account for 1501 Certified still has multiple posts dedicated to the rapper. Most recently, the label shared a video of Erica’s freestyle rap that went live earlier this month.

As you may already know, Erica isn’t the first artist that has called the label out over alleged unpaid wages. Rap star Megan Thee Stallion is currently wrapped up in an ongoing legal battle with the label’s CEO Carl Crawford over royalties and her contract.
In April Megan Thee Stallion claimed Carl Crawford is purposely draining the company’s funds to avoid paying her what she’s reportedly owed.

As of now, Erica hasn’t shared more about why she left the label. However, there’s a chance she may discuss her issues with Carl Crawford on “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.” theJasmineBrand exclusively broke the news in April that she’s featured on the current season of the reality TV series.
