Carlee Russell’s Ex-Boyfriend Denies Signing Deal For Club Appearance To ‘Find Love’ Following Her Kidnapping Hoax

Is Carlee Russell’s ex-boyfriend trying to turn an unfortunate situation into a check?

According to a post made by an Atlanta party promoter, Carlee Russell’s former boyfriend Thomar Simmons was due to make a club appearance in hopes of finding a new boo following their split. The controversial event was set for Thursday, August 3. In part, the caption for the post reads,

“#ATL Lets Help [Thomar Simmons] Find Love – He Is Done With #CarleeRussell So Meet Him At #Revel This Thursday #1 RnB Party”

However, a recent report from The Neighborhood Talk, shared that Thomar Simmons will be unable to serve as the main attraction for the party because “his attorney claims he can’t do any booking regarding the case.”

It’s also been reported that Thomar Simmons was in talks with the promoter about possibly hosting an event but he never officially signed off on anything or agreed to be on the promotional flyer for the alleged Aug. 3 club appearance.

As you may already know, earlier this month, 25-year-old Carlee Russell made nationwide headlines after disappearing for nearly 48 hours in Alabama. She called 911 on her way home from work, claiming she spotted a child walking on the interstate. After pulling over to help, Russell said she was kidnapped by a man who had orange hair with a bald spot. The UAB nursing student told authorities she managed to escape from an 18-wheeler trailer and ran through the woods to get home.

Despite Russell’s initial claims, her attorney revealed in a statement that there was never a young child on the side of the interstate and she wasn’t kidnapped. After it was discovered that Russell staged her disappearance, Simmons, 25, shared a lengthy statement on his Instagram account slamming her actions.

He said,

“Carlee’s actions created hurt, confusion, and dishonesty. I was made aware of the false narrative after coming to the defense of my ex Carlee Russell. Myself and my family’s nature was to react in love, and genuine concern. We are disgusted from the outcome of this entire situation. I strongly feel exactly like you all. blindsided with Carlee’s actions. This is still an ongoing investigation but with all of the recent information and her confession now we gain closure with this situation. Thank you to all my family, friends, and the nation for support through this. I want to also send my prayers and thanks to Ms. Angela Haley – Harris, her team and all of the volunteers. Thank you again for your unwavering support. The severity in this matter has not been overlooked, and I deeply respect the genuine support shared during this situation. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. With love, Thomar.”

Simmons also gained thousands of Instagram followers and is now verified on the site due to the entire situation.

As previously reported, Russell is now facing criminal charges over her lies. Prosecutors in Hoover, Alabama have charged Russell with 2 misdemeanors — falsely reporting to law enforcement authorities and falsely reporting of an incident. Each charge carries up to one year in jail. Russell recently turned herself over to authorities but was quickly released after posting a $2,000 bond.
