Update: Tori Kelly Released From Hospital Following Treatment For Blood Clots Found Around Her Lungs & Legs

Update #2: (Jul. 31, 2023): Tori Kelly is home following a serious health scare!

According to TMZ, the singer was released today (Jul. 31) from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and is home with loved ones as she continues to recover.

You may recall that last week doctors reportedly discovered blood clots around her legs and lungs after she was rushed to the hospital in a “serious” condition. As of now, it’s being reported that doctors were unable to find what caused the blood clots to form. Tori Kelly is expected to be monitored with regular checkups moving forward.

As previously reported, earlier this week news broke that the 30-year-old singer was rushed to the hospital after collapsing while out with friends. While in the ICU at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center doctors reportedly discovered she was in “serious” condition as they located blood clots around her legs and lungs.

Today (Jul. 27) Tori Kelly shared a heartwarming message with her 4.2 million Instagram followers, giving them an update on her health and what’s to come musically speaking. In part, she wrote,

“Hi friends … as you may have heard, i’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges. It’s been a scary few days but i can feel your prayers & can’t stop thinking about you.”

She continued and shared that even though she’s feeling “stronger” there are “still some things to uncover.”

She added,

“Of course i’m heartbroken about all of the things i had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but i know my health must come first.”

According to reports, the “Should’ve Been Us” artist was rushed to the hospital recently and remains in “serious” condition.

Reportedly, Tori Kelly, 30, was at dinner with friends Sunday night (Jul. 23) in L.A. when she made a comment about her heart beating faster than normal. Shortly after, sources say the songstress collapsed and was “out for a while” before being rushed to the hospital. Friends reportedly transported Kelly in her vehicle instead of calling for an ambulance to ensure she’d be taken to Cedars-Sinai, which is hailed as one of the best medical centers in the country.

Upon arrival, Kelly was reportedly taken to the ICU where doctors discovered blood clots in her legs and lungs. Reports also note the Grammy Award winner was in and out of consciousness. Medical professionals are reportedly still ensuring there are no complications surrounding the singer’s heart and said she remains in “serious” condition. At this time, it does not appear that Kelly’s reps have spoken publicly about the health scare.

As reports of the musician’s situation began to spread, fans and supporters took to social media to send Kelly well wishes. In case you’re unfamiliar, the multi-talented singer first began putting out music via Youtube at the age of 14. At 16, Kelly became a break-out contestant on “American Idol,” despite not going on to win the competition. Since then, she’s released several EPs and albums and in 2019 she won two Grammys for Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song.

After taking a media hiatus in 2020, Kelly surprised fans earlier this year with new music and style, donning curly dark locks instead of her signature blonde look. She premiered a new single “Missin U” back in March, announcing a forthcoming album. Now, it seems fans want nothing more but to hear that their fav is back on her feet.
