YSL Co-Founder YSL Mondo Arrested On Multiple Gun & Drug Charges

YSL co-founder YSL Mondo is in a bit of legal trouble.

The Atlanta rapper is facing several gun, drug, and gang charges after authorities searched his home.

According to Cobb County police, YSL Mondo (born Fremondo Crenshaw) was arrested for strangling a woman inside a Marietta home last month. Authorities say that when the 31-year-old did not appear for a court date, federal agents with the U.S. Marshals Task Force, GBI agents, and Cobb deputies searched his home. Based on what they found, he is now looking at additional charges.

During the search of his home, police found drugs, cash, and at least three guns. YSL Mondo was hit with several felonies, including three counts of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

It’s important to note that Mondo was not charged in last year’s sweeping RICO indictment against Young Thug and other YSL members.

As previously reported, Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, 31, was arrested in May 2022 — alongside 27 others reportedly associated with the reported criminal street gang YSL — on gang-related charges. The group, allegedly known as Young Slime Life, is accused of carrying out a number of gang-related crimes under YSL co-founded by the “Best Friend” artist. YSL, however, claims to be nothing more than a record label.

Thug, who remains incarcerated, is accused of allegedly being the ring leader of the gang activity. The rap star’s legal team has attempted to get him released on bond five different times with each attempt being denied.

Earlier this year, YSL Mondo labeled former YSL member Gunna a snitch after the rapper accepted a plea deal in the case. In case you’re unfamiliar with the entire ordeal, Gunna has been under public scrutiny by rap fans and fellow artists since being released from jail back in December of last year.  Gunna ultimately entered an Alford plea and took a deal with prosecutors that resulted in his release.

Despite Gunna’s attorney stating his client will not testify against Young Thug should he be called as a witness, fans and musicians seem to believe he is guilty of “snitching,” which is frowned upon in the hip-hop community.
