Update: Drew Barrymore’s Alleged Stalker Attempts To Break Into Her Home Two Days After Yelling At Actress ‘I Need To See You At Some Point’
Update: (Aug. 24, 2023): Drew Barrymore’s alleged stalker has finally been arrested.
At the start of this week, the “50 First Dates” star made headlines after a man crashed her NYC event and attempted to get on stage with her. The crazy incident occurred as Drew chatted with singer/songwriter Reneé Rapp. The man — who was later identified as Chad Michael Busto — yelled at Drew,
“You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while I’m in New York.”
Thankfully, Reneé wasted no time getting her friend off the stage until Busto was removed from the premises.
Busto, however, didn’t stop there and reportedly showed up at Drew’s Southampton estate yesterday (Aug.23). According to reports, the man was initially unsure where exactly in the neighborhood Drew’s home was located. He allegedly went house-to-house until he found the $6 million property. Reports claim police acted quickly and the crazed fan was only able to walk on a few steps outside the home before he was arrested.
Drew was not home at the time of the reported break-in attempt.

Original story: (Aug. 22, 2023):
Actress Drew Barrymore was recently escorted off the stage during a live event following an interruption from an audience member.
On Monday night (Aug. 21) talk show host Drew Barrymore appeared at the 92nd Street Y in New York for an interview with singer/songwriter Reneé Rapp ahead of the release of her new LP “Snow Angel.” What was meant to be a fun, light-hearted event quickly went south when an overzealous man tried to get close to the “Charlie’s Angels” star. In a video posted to TikTok of the incident, the individual in the crowd can be heard shouting Drew Barrymore’s name while she was speaking to Reneé Rapp about her career.
Seemingly shocked by the interruption, Barrymore stopped mid-sentence and shouted,
“Oh my god, yes, hi!”
To which the man responded,
“You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while I’m in New York.”
The man, who appeared to identify himself as Chad Michael Busto, proceeded to walk down the aisle toward the front row of the stage near the 48-year-old entertainer. The venue’s security guards stepped in by surrounding the alleged stalker to escort him out of the building. While Barrymore and Reneé Rapp appeared concerned during the disruption, Rapp swiftly stood up and wrapped her arm around the actress, walking her off the stage.

The pair reportedly returned after a brief intermission and continued their conversation. Barrymore also confirmed that she was “good” following the situation. In addition, she even showed her appreciation for Rapp for going into protective mode for her during the incident.
Barrymore said,
“I have a new definition of your sexiness. It’s that level of protectiveness. OK, so what were we talking about?”
She then embraced Rapp and added, “You’re my Kevin Costner!”
The statement was seemingly in reference to when Kevin Costner played a bodyguard hired to protect Whitney Houston’s character from a stalker in the 1992 film, “The Bodyguard.”
