Original Story: theJasmineBrand exclusively reports that rapper Baby Gangsta will soon be a free man.

B.G. (short for Baby Gangsta) reportedly kicked off his rap career by signing to Cash Money Records in 1993 when he was just 12 years old. The “I Be Thinking” artist went on to form the famed hip-hop group Hot Boys in 1997 alongside Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk. Despite the group’s success, they separated a few years later in 2001, with B.G., Juvenile, and Turk blaming the disbandment on financial mismanagement.

Unfortunately, issues with his former label are not the only major hurdles B.G., real name Christopher Dorsey, had to endure. In 2009 the 42-year-old entertainer found himself at the center of a traffic stop gone bad. According to reports, New Orleans police discovered three guns, two of which were reported stolen, inside the Chevrolet Tahoe the rapper was driving. Reports claim he was initially booked on an illegal carrying of weapons charge. However, it was soon revealed that he allegedly pressured one of his associates into falsely claiming ownership of the firearms.

On December 7, 2011, B.G. pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice. In July 2012, he was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison and three years of federal supervision upon his release.

Well, it looks like it’s time for B.G. to start his probation period. Sources close to the matter have exclusively shared with theJasmineBrand that the New Orleans native will be released in a few days. As of now, it’s unclear how he plans to spend his first day of freedom. However, he might hit the studio as it’s not uncommon for rappers to drop a new track after being released from prison.
