Ime Udoka Seeks Joint Rights After Nia Long Requested Full Legal & Physical Custody Of Their Son
It looks like Ime Udoka isn’t in agreement with actress Nia Long’s recent request regarding their child.
If you didn’t know, last month, reports swirled that Nia Long asked the judge to grant her full legal and physical custody of her and NBA coach Ime Udoka’s young son, Kez.

According to RadarOnline, in the yet-to-be-ruled-on documents, Nia Long filed for her ex, Ime Udoka, to cover all her court fees and outlined a stipulation that would grant the former Boston Celtics leader “reasonable visitation to respondent consistent with the child’s best interest.”
The motion was (seemingly) submitted due to the 52-year-old claiming that Udoka hasn’t fulfilled his parental responsibilities since their notorious split.
However, Udoka, 46, has recently responded to the matter. Apparently, even though 11-year-old Kez has allegedly been in the sole care of the ‘Best Man’ icon since October, Udoka wants joint legal and physical custody of the preteen.
Additionally, he reportedly feels as if he and Long should each cough up the costs for their own court bills.

As of now, Long has yet to comment any further… publicly.
The current custody battle comes almost a year after Udoka was outed for having an affair with a Celtics staff member, which resulted in the termination of his position as then-head coach.
Long and Udoka began dating in 2009 and got engaged in 2015. Together, they share one son, Kez, who was born in 2011. A newly-single Long is also mother to a 22-year-old, Massai, son from a previous relationship.
When speaking of the turmoil that his cheating scandal caused, the Hollywood heavy-hitter said in a previous interview,
“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public.”

She added:
“No one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m okay, to see if my children are okay. It’s very disappointing.”
