Drake Trolls Charlamagne Tha God After He Criticized Rapper’s Latest Collab w/ SZA: ‘You The Off Brand Morris Chestnut’
It seems like Drake put a pause on touring to crack a few jokes about Charlamagne Tha God!
Drake and Charlamagne Tha God are at it again after the radio personality critiqued the rapper’s latest single “Slime You Out” featuring SZA. The duo has a history of having a rocky relationship, however, they’ve seemingly been on good terms since 2015 when Drake extended an olive branch to Charlamagne Tha God.
As you may recall, over the years Charlamagne Tha God has been very vocal about his critiques of Drake, especially during the early stages of the “6 God” artist’s career. The pair eventually ironed out their differences and Drake even sent Charlamagne bottles of champagne.
However, the Power 105.1 radio personality has reverted back to his old ways. Charlamagne expressed that he’s not a fan of Drake and SZA’s latest collab during a recent episode of his “Brilliant Idiots” podcast with Andrew Schultz. According to Charlamagne, despite the track coming from two big-named stars, nobody really cared about the tune when it initially dropped.
He stated:
“It came out last Friday and people just started talking about the lyrics yesterday. Cause I saw people posting about how he said something about, ‘Whipped and chained you like [American] slave.’”

Charlamagne continued, telling his co-host that he expected something that would go harder than what the “Her Loss” rapper released. Charlamagne stated:
“I’m in the group chat and I’m like, ‘D*mn, Drake put out this record Friday, and people just getting to the lyrics on Monday? That’s not Drake-like!”
It appears that Drake did not appreciate Charlamagne’s criticism and decided to clapback. He took to social media and shared a variety of posts aimed at the media star, one of which said:
“Are you ok Lenard?? You kinda weirding me out g. Like you really obsessed with me or something for years like you look in the mirror and wish you saw my reflection type sh-t…whatever you gotta do to let it out I’m sure your 435 loyal fans will stand by you ya f-cking goof.”

Drake then let a few more things off his chest and called Charlamagne an “off brand Morris Chestnut.”

Today (Sept. 25) Charlamagne responded to Drake on The Breakfast Club by jokingly stating that he’s a part of the rapper’s campaign rollout and their back-and-forth is all part of the plan to push the record. However, he also doubled down on his dislike of the song.
