T.I. & Tiny Face Backlash After Son King Reveals He Didn’t Live w/ Them During Taping Of Family VH1 Reality Show

Apparently, all of the members of the Harris family weren’t around when the cameras of ‘T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle’ stopped rolling!

According to power couple T.I. and Tiny’s son, King Harris, many viewers of the hit reality series weren’t aware that he wasn’t a full-time occupant of the Harris household amid filming.

When asked about the misconceptions of growing up in the spotlight, he told comedic podcaster Funny Marco,

“It’s a lot about that TV show, man, that got people confused.”

King Harris continued by revealing that his visits to his mother and father’s home were (seemingly) scheduled when they were set to record the episodes.

He furthered in the interview:

“I lived with my grandma. You know, we’ll go to the house for like a weekend. They’ll say, ‘Hey, we shooting today; we need y’all at the house.’ They’ll come get me from my grandma’s house and right after we done–when them cameras go off–I’m right back to my grandma’s house.”

While King Harris didn’t provide any detailed context as to why the living arrangements were the way that they were, following the now-viral conversation, fans flooded in with opinions.

A few avid watchers of the show claimed that King not living with his parents was actually mentioned in an episode that some may have missed.

An individual on YouTube cited,

“It was crazy to know that both parents are wealthy and available but his grandmother still raised him. That’s wild.”

Another person added:

“Y’all gon learn Money don’t change people. His parents was gon be absent regardless. They was just even more absent because they had the resources to travel a lot for whatever they had going on. Music, business, etc.”

Reportedly created by Brian Sher, Cris Abrego, and Stella Bulochnikov, ‘T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle’ was an uber-successful reality show that documented the high-profile lives of celebrated rapper T.I., his wife, Xscape’s Tameka “Tiny” Cottle-Harris, and their then-six children.

Although the original series concluded in 2017, the crew resurged in VH1’s spin-off, ‘T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle,’ which also featured LeToya LuckettMonica, and Toya Johnson (now Rushing).

Elsewhere in his sit-down with Funny Marco, King briefly elaborated on the public’s ideology of his behavioral transformation.

As you may know, the controversial 19-year-old lyricist has been in the headlines quite a bit, which included an arrest for not wearing a seatbelt and an altercation with Waffle House workers in Atlanta.

Despite those unfortunate situations, though, King assures that he’s on a better path today.

He said,

“I’m really staying out the way because, due to my past events, [people] kind of said like, ‘Aye, bro! You do this sh*t, we ain’t, we can’t [work with you]. So, I’ve been chilling.”

Upon seeing a photo of his younger self and the man he’s grown into, the “New King Of The South” rhymer stated,

“I mean, he’s exactly who I am today, man. But, um, [viewers] just seen him being good, kind, funny, kid-type bad. You know?”

T.I. and Tiny have yet to confirm or deny King’s comments.

A couple of users under The Neighborhood Talk weighed in with more sentiments.

A woman remarked,

“Having your child being primarily raised by your parents is ridiculous. Why the h*ll did you have the child then? My opinion.”

Someone else chimed in:

It was so obvious that grandma and auntie precious was raising them… T.I and tiny were too concern with drugs, guns and threesomes…”

Another IG user said,
“All y’all keep saying “we all went to our grandparents” are really lost. It’s a difference between going over there for visits and actually living and being raised by your grands when you have 2 very much alive parents. They made a choice on what was important which was [their] finances then turned around and kept popping out children. Poor kids.”
Additionally, others brought up King’s older sister, Zonnique’s, past statement about their mother, Tiny, not having a lot of time for them due to her marriage and career.
“[And] Zonnique said she feel like her mama was always running behind Tip instead of being with them so he not lying [and] that’s sad.”
