‘The View’ Co-Host Joy Behar Reportedly Once Confronted Barbara Walters About Rumors She Slept w/ Richard Pryor: ‘[She] Liked A Brother’

‘The View’ Co-Host Joy Behar Reportedly Once Confronted Barbara Walters About Rumors She Slept w/ Richard Pryor: ‘[She] Liked A Brother’
Clearly, Joy Behar is definitely one to “pry” a little… if she has to!
Recently, daytime phenomenon Joy Behar stopped by her former ‘The View’ co-host Sherri Shepherd’s talk show, and a big secret was revealed.

Joy Behar
If you didn’t know, Sherri Shepherd joined the ABC-produced program in 2007, alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, and series creator Barbara Walters.
During her recent sit-down with ex-colleague Behar, Sherri Shepherd recalled a time when late funnyman Paul Mooney claimed that he’d once caught their then-boss, iconic broadcast journalist Barbara Walters, creeping with fellow legendary comedian Richard Pryor.
According to the ‘SHERRI’ runner, subsequent to being made aware of the gossip, she told Behar, who then went straight to Barbara Walters.
Reminiscing on her days on ‘The View’ and intimidation of Walters, Shepherd said to Behar,
“The thing about it is… I would tell you stuff, and then you would go and tell it!”

She continued:
“I never told this before [publicly], I’ma tell it. I told Joy that I had run into Paul Mooney, and Paul Mooney had said that he caught Barbara Walters with Richard Pryor!”
As the crowd cooed in awe, 81-year-old Behar jokingly asked,
“What do you mean? She slept with Richard Pryor?”

Paul Mooney
Shepherd added:
“Yes! That’s what Paul Mooney said. And I came back, I came back and I was like, ‘Joy! Guess what?’ When you talk like that you know it’s don’t tell nobody!”
‘The Jamie Foxx Show’ actress proceeded with,
“I said, ‘Paul Mooney said he caught Barbara with Richard Pryor; he walked in on them! And then I was like, ‘Don’t tell nobody!”

Richard Pryor
Behar comically challenged,
“He walked in on them?!”
Shepherd then went on to recount that Behar let the cat out of the bag about the hearsay to Walters, but she didn’t reveal Shepherd was her source.
The 56-year-old shared,
“Don’t act like you don’t remember!”
Shepherd concluded with,
“The next day, Barbara walks in, and you go, ‘So… you slept with Richard Pryor, huh?'”

Fortunately, no one lost their job behind that rumor, but it doesn’t seem that Walters confirmed or denied the speculation.
However, Behar did say that Walters was known to get down with the swirl, as Walters admitted in her memoir, “Audition,” where she talked about her affair with Black U.S. Senator Edward Brooke.
Behar funnily stated with sarcasm,
“Between you and me, Barbara liked a ‘brother.’ She was going out with a Black senator! Is this going to be on television? [laughs]”
But… when it comes to her hookup with Richard Pryor, not much is currently known of the fallen legends’ romance.
Perhaps, sparks flew around the time of their infamous 1979 interview? See a clip of their flirty interaction here:
Unfortunately, Richard Pryor (65) died in 2005 from a heart attack. Walters, who had been suffering from dementia, died last year. She was 93.
