Update: Akon Plans To Sue Suge Knight For Defamation For Claiming He Raped A 13-Year-Old Girl: ‘ I Absolutely Deny These Outrageous False & Disgusting Claims’

Update: (Nov. 2, 2023): Akon is gearing up to take legal action against jailed Suge Knight.

As previously reported, in the first episode of his new podcast, “Collect Call,” Suge Knight accused Akon and his producer, Detail, of raping two minors. Akon wasted no time denying the serious allegation and, in part, shared via X,

“The world knows a lie when they hear it.”

In a newly released follow-up statement shared with Complex, Akon revealed he has plans to take legal action against the former CEO of Death Row Records. The “Lonely” artist said,

“I need to make it very clear that I absolutely deny these outrageous false and disgusting claims Suge Knight made on his podcast about me. I‘ve never called, received, or had any contact with Suge Knight since he has been incarcerated.”

He continued, explaining how Suge Knight was able to obtain audio of his voice for the shocking podcast episode.

“My voice you heard on his podcast was a soundbite previously recorded from an interview I did with DJ Vlad 3 years ago regarding Suge Knight in 2009. I’ve never been a guest on Suge Knight’s podcast. I always believe in building positivity into the world and my actions and legacy have spoken to that.”

Akon concluded with,

“It’s unfortunate that I have to defend myself from these lies and I will be involving my legal team in filing a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Knight, my prayers for him will still continue.”

Original Story: (Oct 30, 2023): Platinum-selling artist Akon has responded to Suge Knight’s recent allegation against him.

If you didn’t know, in the opening episode of Death Row co-founder Suge Knight’s new podcast, “Collect Call,” he accused Akon and his producer, Detail, of raping two young girls.

Akon

Following the shocking claim, Akon took to his X account to set the record straight, calling his longtime enemy, Suge Knight, “sad” and “embarrassing.”

In response to a clip of the controversial recording, Akon wrote,

“The world knows a lie when they hear it. It’s unfortunate that this man is going out like this. It’s sad and seriously embarrassing. Regardless of our history, I’m still going to be praying for him.”

While Knight has not addressed Akon’s debunking, the internet is still up in arms about his initial words regarding the “Locked Up” phenomenon.

According to the jailed hip-hop tycoon, the little sister of one of his associates was sexually assaulted by Akon. During the conversation with the podcast creator, The Source CEO Dave Mays, Knight gave a play-by-play of the events leading up to the (alleged) troubling incident.

He claimed:

“One of my homegirls, she was a hustler. She had a little sister [who was] thirteen years old; her best friend was twelve years old. She [was] in the car with her.”

Knight continued, alleging that the minors were in Akon’s care when it happened. He expanded,

“[Akon] and Detail [called] her. She said, ‘I got my little sister and her best friend with me.’ They said, ‘Well, just stop by for a second.’ She goes by [Akon and Detail’s] hotel… in [their] room. She gets a call. The dudes at the hotel [who] she met when she was coming to see [those] m*therf*ckers. He said, ‘Come by. That’s the twenty minutes.’ She said, ‘I can’t do it right now; I gotta take my little sister home… and her friend. I’ll be back in an hour.'”

The 58-year-old furthered:

“He said, ‘Come by, twenty minutes. I got a big payday for you. You, Akon, said, ‘Go ahead, you can leave your little sister and her friend right here. We’ll order them something to eat.’ She goes up to the next room. Instead of coming back in twenty minutes, she said she comes back [in] about thirty-five minutes.”

Knight concluded,

“When she gets back in the room, her little sister and the other little girl don’t want to eat, they look scared, they crying. When she gets in the car with them, they tell her. Akon, you f*cked a little girl [who was] thirteen; Detail, you f*cked a little girl [who was] twelve years old!”

Akon

Born Noel Christopher Fisher, producer Detail has long been labeled a serial rapist, with many public cases citing occurrences that date back to 2010.

In 2020, Detail was charged with fifteen counts of sexual assault, with songstresses like Jessie Reyez and Tinashe coming forward with claims against the high-profile hitmaker.

Along with Akon’s “I’m So Paid,” the Detroit native is best known for his work on Ray J’s “Sexy Can I,” Lil Wayne’s “How to Love,” and Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love.”

Detail

Akon and Knight’s beef (seemingly) stems from their infamous 2009 beatdown when Akon’s camp and Knight got into a viral brawl.

Allegedly, although Akon admitted that he and Knight’s relationship had always been shaky, the problems appear to have heightened over unresolved money issues.

In a 2020 interview, Akon reported that it was due to the $25,000 that Detail (then signed to him) owed Ray J, who was working with Knight at the time.
