Reality Star Brittish Williams’ Ex Attorney Claims Her Unwillingness To Change & “Take Responsibility” Led To Her 4 Year Prison Sentence: ‘This Is What Happens When You Don’t Listen To Your Lawyer’

Reality star Brittish Williams former legal representation recently spoke out about her jail sentence.

The attorney, named Jason Korner, says the “Basketball Wives” alum refused to listen to his council, adding that her “attitude” likely impacted the judge’s decision about her case.

Jason Korner took to his Tik Tok account to address Brittish Williams‘ being sentenced to 4 years on fraud charges, explaining:

“Brittish Williams was sentenced to four years in prison yesterday in Federal court in St. Louis…I initially represented her on the case, unfortunately she was just one of those clients, that she wouldn’t listen.”

He continued:

“She wouldn’t understand strategy that I was talking to about her for her case. Just things that are best practices when on pre trial release in federal court…and eventually we chose not to continue representation,”

In the now deleted video, Korner went on to state that Williams‘ ruling is being scrutinized by the public, seemingly for being so harsh, as it’s characterized as a “first offense white collar” case. However, the attorney attributed the lack of leniency from the court judge to Williams‘ own actions and “attitude” towards the situation. He continued:

“Really, this is what happens when you don’t listen to your lawyer, when you don’t want to kind of change your ways, take responsibility when you have a case pending especially in federal court. I believe that that’s…nearly entirely where her 4 year sentence came from was just her ongoing attitude and behaviors.”

The lawyer concluded by urging people to take heed from Williams‘ situation and listen to their representation if they ever find themselves “in the system”. It’s unclear exactly what behaviors the attorney was referring to. During Williams‘ trial, it was reported that she made several attempts to continue working, however. In one court motion, the entertainer asked the judge to remove her ankle monitor after allegedly losing a deal with Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty clothing line, which was ultimately denied.

In another motion, the TV star reportedly requested permission to travel to Mexico and film for “BBW”. The court judge opted to deny this request as well.  While it’s unclear whether or not the judge perceived these actions as Williams‘ not taking the matter seriously, there seems to have been something that offended to government professional throughout the trial. As we previously covered, Williams‘ was found guilty of several felony counts of fraud for writing bad checks and willingly participating in wire fraud and identity theft.

It does not appear Williams has reacted to Korner’s claims at this time.
