Update: Ray J & Brandy’s Mom Shares She’s ‘Doing Great’ Following Bad Reaction To IV Therapy: ‘That Was Weeks Ago’

Update: (Nov. 6, 2023): Earlier today (Nov. 6) news broke that Sonja Norwood is home recovering following a medical scare. Reportedly, the mother of entertainers Ray J and Brandy Norwood received an at-home vitamin IV drip that caused a bad reaction. After 911 was called and she was allegedly taken to the hospital, it was determined that Sonja was okay.

Sonja shared an update to her official Facebook account and let fans know that the unfortunate situation took place “weeks ago.” In part, She wrote,

“I don’t usually address stories about myself, but I was quite surprised to wake up to a call from a long-time friend/publicist asking, “Sonja, are you in the hospital, and are you okay?” “What? Where is that coming from,” I asked. There was a TMZ story that I was not aware of. She sent the link, and when I looked at it, I frowned and said, “That was weeks ago.” and “They could have gotten my age right.” Then the floodgates of concerns just took over my phone.”

Sonja’s statement continued,

“Thank God I am not in the hospital. I’m doing great! I did have a negative reaction to an IV VITAMIN Therapy WEEKS AGO! It was not a big deal. I went to the hospital and got a big Grade A on my medical reports…That is about it! Nothing more or less! You guys are the best! Don’t be mad with TMZ.”

Original Story: (Nov. 6, 2023): We’re sending our prayers and well wishes to Sonja Norwood!

According to reports, the mother of famed entertainers Ray J and Brandy Norwood recently spent a brief time in the hospital due to an IV therapy treatment gone south. Sonja Norwood was said to have been in the process of receiving a home IV drip that reportedly was a mix of C and B vitamins, calcium, and magnesium. Unfortunately for the talent manager, her body didn’t take too well to the popular treatment, and she started to feel light-headed, reports claim.

Allegedly, Ray J and others grew concerned, prompting them to call 911 for Sonja Norwood, who also experienced a rapid breathing episode. She was taken to the hospital and, thankfully, everything was ultimately determined to be just fine. Sonja Norwood is reportedly now recovering from the entire ordeal.
