Cardi B & Offset – Social Media Users Claim Couple’s Alleged Breakup Is A Publicity Stunt: ‘They Do This Every Couple Of Months’

Music power couple Cardi B and Offset seem to be at odds with one another.

The married pair have been uploading some cryptic messages about trust and outgrowing relationships, leaving many to (skeptically) speculate that the two may have called it quits.

Break-up rumors surrounding the musicians began after fans noticed they were no longer following each other on social media. It seems many have been discussing that something was amiss following an interesting post from Cardi B about relationships and putting herself first. In one post the rapper, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, 31, wrote:

“You know when you just out grow relationships”

Adding in another:

“I’m tired of protecting peoples feelings…I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST!”

For Offset’s part, the former Migos member shared a message about trust and building. The rapper, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, 31, posted a clip from the iconic “Scarface” movie where Tony Montana stated:

“Hey f*ck you man! Who put this thing together? Me that’s who! Who do I trust? Me!”

As social media users began debating the ambiguous posts, one user shared footage from a live Cardi recently hosted where she spoke about leaving behind “dead weight” in the New Year. She stated in the video:

“Career wise, financially, and personal life I knew where I want to be at next year…so you gotta get rid of dead weight.”

And continued:

“When it comes to dead weight…I’ll say mentality, procrastination, laziness, and people, cause a lot of people are dead weight too. Sometimes…I feel like as a Libra when it comes to people we always want to protect their feelings…their image. We just want to protect people like, how would they feel or how would life without me be for them. F*ck that.” 

It’s unclear what exactly transpired as neither Cardi nor Offset has spoken directly about the matter. However, this isn’t the first or second time the two have been rumored to be parting ways. Since they wed back in 2017, their public romance has faced many obstacles and has been the center of multiple cheating scandals. If you recall, the “Money” artist announced she was splitting from her husband just a year into the marriage. At the time, reports claimed the “Rich Flair” rapper had cheated on his wife, which wouldn’t be the last time he was accused of infidelity.

More recently Cardi was speculated to be the one having an affair, though she vehemently denied anything was happening on her part. She argued that such news would already be public knowledge if it was true. Despite it all, Cardi and Offset have seemed to be committed to working on things and staying together, even if only for the sake of their two children Kulture, 5, and Wave, 2.

Social media users have been reacting to the recent rumors of a split, with many seeming to believe it’s nothing more than a publicity stunt. Some, however, seem to think that the two ultimately calling it quits will be the inevitable outcome of their romance.
