Former ‘RHOA’ Star Dennis McKinley Reaches Settlement In Lawsuit Accusing The Original Hot Dog Factory Of Fraudulent Business Practices

It looks like Dennis McKinley isn’t in “hot” water anymore!

According to RadarOnline, former reality star Dennis McKinley’s court battle has come to an end.

As previously reported, in November 2022, a woman named Dezaree Lusk filed a case against Dennis McKinley after claiming that he failed to meet their contractual agreement.

Dezaree Lusk allegedly paid $30,000 to franchise McKinley’s ex-company, The Original Hot Dog Factory. In return, McKinley was to offer “resources” to get it up and running.

Legal documents read,

“An estimated six months lapsed and [McKinley’s] company failed to provide the resources in which to build the franchise.”

Plaintiff Dezaree Lusk told the judge that McKinley initially agreed to issue a refund but didn’t. In September 2022, she took him to arbitration (where she accused him of fraud) and was awarded $32,000.

McKinley was given 20 days to make the payment but didn’t meet the deadline. Lusk then sued the serial entrepreneur and demanded the court confirm the arbitration award. Additionally, she asked the court to appoint a receiver.

The filings said,

“Based on the actions of [McKinley] towards [Lusk], there is substantive belief that [McKinley] will dispose of the monies owed to [Lusk] and remove [McKinley’s] ability to pay [Lusk] if the monies owed to [Lusk] are not held by a receiver until the final adjudication on the merits.”

In October, Dezaree Lusk dismissed her lawsuit against ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ castmate after both parties settled.

That same month, Dennis McKinley sold The Original Hot Dog Factory (founded in 2010) to restaurateurs Ismael and Charity Ramos.

Thankfully, each individual has found a middle ground on the matter at hand.

Let’s just hope Mr. McKinley won’t have to see a judge for a while.
