Prayers up for Rickey Smiley.
The entertainer had a very emotional breakdown during a live session recently leading many to debate what could be causing him so much pain.

In a clip from the video Rickey Smiley, 55, was making coffee before exiting from the view of the camera. Off screen, he can be heard loudly sobbing as he seems to break down uncontrollably. His cries become so loud that someone nearby, also off camera, comes in and checks on him asking if they can get him anything or if he needs any help. Smiley declines the offer insisting he’s ok, but thanked the individual for their concern.

The radio host has not offered any explanation for the moment at this time, leading many to draw their own conclusions. On one hand, some internet users seem to believe that he has reached a boiling point after his career was heavily scrutinized by Katt Williams recently. If you recall, the comedian’s viral appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast Club Shay Shay had the internet in shambles earlier this week due to him candidly bashing several of his colleagues skills as comedians. Williams‘ target was specifically aimed towards Smiley as he refuted the radio host’s claims he was originally cast for the role of Money Mike in the hit movie “Friday After Next” that ultimately launched Williams’ career as an actor.

Katt Williams as Money Mike
Williams accused Smiley of not only lying about the situation, but also stated he had a bad attitude the rest of filming. The stand up comic claimed his behavior was so intolerable that he put in his contracts anytime he and Smiley were on the same set that he wouldn’t participate unless his fellow jokester was in a dress. He went on to highlight the fact that the next movie the two appeared in together “First Sunday”, featured Smiley indeed playing a female character.

However, Smiley didn’t seem to be too bothered as he reversely denied Williams‘ claims during a subsequent episode of his radio show. This point led many others to believe that it isn’t his ongoing beef with Williams‘ that has him so upset, but rather the forthcoming anniversary of his late son’s death. As we reported back in January of last year, the entertainer’s then 32-year-old son Brandon tragically passed away due to apparent overdose.

Following his death, Smiley opened up about definitely needing therapy and how hard the situation has been for him. Many online acknowledged this amid criticism from those who suspected his reaction was due to the situation with Williams.

We continue to send up prayers and well wishes on his behalf at this time.
