Ludacris Recalls Justin Timberlake Telling Him To ‘Shut The F*ck Up’ For Loudly Celebrating 2007 Grammy Award Win
Ludacris is opening up about Justin Timberlake’s reaction to his big win at the 2007 Grammy Awards.
In a recent sit-down interview, rapper Ludacris, 45, recalled the moment he won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, which sparked an interesting reaction from singer Justin Timberlake, 43. During the conversation on “Drink Champs,” the “Fast & Furious” actor explained his excitement about winning the prestigious award for his album “Release Therapy” and getting recognized for his work over the years.
Ludacris said his passion after winning the award soared once he went backstage. Back then, the rapper said artists were separated by curtains instead of their own rooms. While backstage, Ludacris, real name Christopher Bridges, loudly expressed,
“Yeah! F*ck yeah I made it! I did it! I won! I literally set out this album to get a Grammy and I got it!”
Following his celebration, Ludacris said he heard from the other side of the curtain,
“Shut the f*ck up, man. Some of us didn’t win any gotd*mn Grammys today!”
Ludacris then revealed that after pulling back the curtain to see who yelled at him he surprisingly learned that the voice belonged to Justin Timberlake.
He added, with a smile on his face,
“That n*gg* Justin gangster, bro.”
It’s important to note that despite Timberlake’s reported comment, he did end up taking home two Grammy Awards that night. He lost Best Pop Vocal Album and Album Of The Year for “FutureSex/LoveSounds,” but won Best Rap/Song Collaboration for “My Love” and Best Dance Recording for “SexyBack.”
