Drake Gifts Cancer Survivor $50,000 At Pittsburgh Concert, Bringing Her To Tears: ‘Do Something Nice For Yourself’
Drake just made one cancer survivor smile.
The five-time Grammy winner was performing at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena for his It’s All A Blur – Big As the What? tour on Friday (Feb. 16), when he spotted a fan’s sign that read,
“Your music carried me through cancer.”
Drake then told her,
“Tonight, I don’t know what you want to do with it. It’s up to you. I hope you do whatever you want, do something nice for yourself. I’ll keep trying to make music that you listen to, but tonight we’re going to give you $50,000.”
The crowd roared and the fan couldn’t hold back tears as she cried and smiled, thanking Drake for the gesture.
This isn’t the first time Drake has given a fan the five-figure gift. In September, Drake encouraged a fan whose girlfriend dumped him, making him go to the Miami concert alone. The fan had held up a sign about the split that read,
“I spent all my savings buying tickets for me and my ex, but never mind it’s really her loss.”
The One Dance singer-rapper was floored that the mysterious ex-girlfriend left the fan hanging.
“What the f*ck is wrong with her? And you in here just icy with the gold chain and sunglasses on? You know what? She’s gonna feel real f*cked up, ’cause I’m a give you 50 bands so you can flex on her.”

Earlier this month, Drake confessed that he can’t stay away from his fans for too long. He hinted that he’d be releasing new music soon despite announcing a one-year hiatus recently.
During a performance in St. Louis on Feb. 13, he said,
“You know, I said I was taking a break and all that sh*t, but I’m right back on the road.”

Added Drake:
“It’s hard for me to stay away from y’all. I really do love you. You never know, I might get bored and start making some new music on the road; see where it goes in the next little while.”
His statement comes just a couple of months after he said he’d be taking a break from music due to minor health issues.
He shared in part during his Table For One radio show in October,
“Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. So, I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right. And I’m going to do that.”
He noted that he was going to “lock the door on the studio” for “maybe a year” or “a little longer.”
