Porsha Williams’ Decision To Divorce Simon Guobadia Will Not Air On Upcoming Season Of ‘RHOA’ As Filming Hasn’t Started
Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia’s sudden breakup reportedly wasn’t caught on camera.
According to Radar Online, season 16 of Real Housewives of Atlanta has not yet begun filming, so cameras didn’t capture the events that ultimately caused the split.
An insider reportedly confirmed that filming for the Bravo series’ new season is still a ways from beginning. While it was speculated that Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia’s breakup was possibly a storyline for the reality show, it appears that theory has been debunked. Not only have the cameras not even been rolling, but the show’s executive producer Andy Cohen also confirmed that he had no knowledge that the divorce was coming, claiming that he thought – like many – Simon Guobadia would be Williams‘ “happily ever after.”
Despite the breakup, the insider reportedly added that Williams will still be embraced as a valued cast member on the show, stating:
“Porsha is a star on her own without Simon. He was not important to Bravo.”
As we’ve been covering, news of Williams and Guobadia’s separation came as a shock to many. The two appeared to be perfectly happy since tying the knot back in 2022 and were smiling on vacation together just days before Williams filed the divorce documents. Neither has opened up about the reason for their split, though the businessman did make a post on his social media page, suggesting he was not giving up on the marriage.
For Williams’ part, however, it appears the relationship is completely done. Reports state the two signed an air-tight prenup before their betrothal and that the reality star is pushing to have it enforced. Williams reportedly wrote in the divorce documents that their union is “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for a reconciliation.”
She also reportedly warned her estranged husband against getting rid of any financial documents and records that may pertain to the divorce proceedings. Though fans won’t be tuning into the beginning of the end of the marriage, season 16 will reportedly highlight the fallout from the divorce as well as Williams and Guobadia’s legal battle.
