Dolly Parton Spills Tea On Beyoncé’s Upcoming Country Album, Shares She’s ‘Excited’ A Remake Of Her Hit Song ‘Jolene’ May Appear On The Project
Did Dolly Parton just let the cat out of the bag about Beyonce’s highly-anticipated country album?
Veteran country music legend Dolly Parton hinted in a recent interview that superstar Beyoncé could potentially release a rendition of her 1974 hit “Jolene” for her forthcoming country album, purportedly titled “Renaissance Act II.”
In response to the rumor mill surrounding the possibility of Beyoncé covering one of her songs, Dolly Parton, affectionately called the “Queen of Country,” shared,
“Well, I think she has! I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that.”
Despite what appears to be an accidental revelation, there has been no confirmation from Beyoncé or her camp. However, it seems safe to say that if true, the tune would be an instant hit with the 32x Grammy Award winner’s fans.

Thus far, Beyoncé has had a strong transition into country music with the first two singles from the upcoming album. “Texas Hold ‘Em” shot to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. In addition, the tune made history as it became the first song from a Black woman to land atop the Hot Country Songs chart. “16 Carriages” has also done well, debuting at number nine on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
Parton has openly expressed great support for Beyoncé, especially in response to criticism she has faced regarding her country music era.
“I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album.”
She continued,
“So, congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single.”

Regarding the rumors concerning whether or not she will be included in Beyoncé’s upcoming project, Parton also shared that not only has she long-wished for Beyoncé to re-record her hit “Jolene,” but mentioned they are not strangers, as they have regularly communicated for some time.

Parton stated,
“We’ve kind of sent messages back and forth through the years. And she and her mother were like fans, and I was always touched that they were fans, and I always thought she was great.”
The Tennessee native did not understate her affection for Beyoncé, saying,
“I love her!”
Parton also added,
“She’s a beautiful girl and a great singer.”
