Jennifer Lopez Draws Criticism After Cancelling Several Stops On Her First Tour In 5 Years w/o Explanation: ‘This Is Disrespectful Towards The Audience’

Some fans of pop star Jennifer Lopez aren’t too happy with her latest tour update.

A few hopeful concertgoers expressed their disappointment recently after it was subtly announced the songstress will no longer be visiting several major cities.

In total, Jennifer Lopez, 54, has reportedly canceled 7 stops on her forthcoming “This Is Me Now Tour.” The concert series is set to kick off this June and was initially scheduled to include 36 shows across the country. However, Ticketmaster recently listed several dates for late August as canceled, which included stops in Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, and New Orleans.

One report stated that two additional shows in Houston and Cleveland were also canceled. In the info section of the shows, the ticketing site wrote:

“Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. No action is required to obtain a refund. It will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, once funds are received from the Event Organizer, which is usually completed within 30 days.”

At this time, there hasn’t been any further explanation as to why the shows were canceled, which seems to have frustrated fans. On Ticketmaster’s site, one upset concert hopeful wrote:

“the concert in Raleigh was cancelled. and for several days now we have been waiting for at least some comments, but no one is giving them. This is disrespectful towards the audience! I can’t even buy a new ticket in another state now, because I don’t know which cities will cancel!”

While another added:

“The show in ATL was canceled. Why was this show canceled with no explanation.”

Previously, Lopez reportedly commented that her “This Is Me Now” album, released in February, will likely be her last. She stated about the record and accompanying visual movie:

“This was going to be the quintessential thing I have been searching for and wanted to say about love. I’ve been guy on this search for so long, since people first met me and my first record came out and even before that in my first movie role, where I’ve been on this journey trying to figure this thing out for myself. This (album) kind of closed the loop in a way.”

The comment makes frustration surrounding the show even more understandable as it could possibly be the last time many get to see her on tour. It does not appear that anyone from Lopez’s team nor the singer herself has commented on the matter at this time.
