Amanda Bynes’ Fans React To Questionable Resurfaced Hot Tub Sketch Featuring Actress & Ex Nickelodeon Producer Dan Schneider: ‘Now We See Why This Child Star Has So Many Mental Problems’
A resurfaced video of Amanda Bynes and disgraced Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider has set the internet on fire.
In the footage, Dan Schneider is fully clothed in a jacuzzi while sitting next to a then-teenage Amanda Bynes, who seems to be wearing a swimsuit. The odd pairing was for a Nickelodeon sketch titled “Amanda’s Jacuzzi,” which was also written by Dan Schneider. It premiered on “The Amanda Show,” which aired from 1999 through 2002.
After seeing the video, fans expressed their concerns about what happened to the “She’s The Man” star and if the alleged abuse led to her public breakdown in 2013.

According to a report, one of the editors who worked on “All That” spoke out about Dan Schneider’s relationship with Amanda Bynes.

Karyn Finley Thompson shared,
“There were many times that I saw Amanda sitting behind him, hugging him or giving him a neck massage or whatever.”
She continued,
“Dan and Amanda had a close relationship and I didn’t think anything different than that. The hot tub scene though I always thought was a little odd.”

The comment made by Thompson comes as Schneider faces scrutiny after the new tell-all documentary “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” premiered on March 17 and 18.
In the series, several former child stars and production staffers accused the TV writer of pressuring wardrobe costumers to give him massages on set, underpaying and coercing female writers to perform sexual acts in the writers’ room, and continually writing coded sexual adult jokes into scenes for child actors.
The former Nickelodeon top executive has since spoken out against the claims. His spokesperson said in a statement,
“In the production challenges, Dan could get frustrated at times, and he understands why some employees found that intimidating and stressful.”
The statement also detailed Schneider’s years-long career in television and mentioned that the producer acknowledged that some people did not have a positive experience and he is “truly sorry for that.”
“Dan knows he should have done better and feels awful about anyone who saw him at his worst instead of his best.”
In addition to “The Amanda Show,” Schneider also launched series “Drake & Josh,” “Game Shakers,” “Sam & Cat,” “Victorious,” “What I Like About You,” “Zoey 101” “iCarly” and more. He also wrote and appeared in the 1997 film “Good Burger.”
As for Bynes, the former child star was placed under a temporary conservatorship in 2013 after a string of mental health and substance abuse issues—the protective order ended in 2022.
