Wendy Williams Allegedly Had Roughly $50 Million In Bank Before Guardianship, Source Claims Current Amount Is Unknown As Several People ‘Are All Getting Paid Out Of’ The Accounts
New alleged details have surfaced surrounding Wendy Williams’ bank accounts.
As previously reported, in 2022, Wells Fargo froze Wendy Williams’ accounts over concern she was being subjected to “financial exploitation, dementia, or undue influence.” Despite her fight against the allegations, a judge ultimately ruled that the former talk show host would be placed under guardianship. Her team recently revealed she was officially diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia sometime in 2023.
In a newly shared report from RadarOnline, a source close to the matter claimed that at the time her various Wells Fargo accounts were frozen, Wendy Williams allegedly had between $40 and $50 million stacked away.
The insider continued, noting that it’s now unclear how much money Williams has in the accounts as her finances and life are under the control of court evaluators, attorneys, and specialists who allegedly have their hands in the funds. They added,
“You have now five attorneys who Wendy did not select and who Wendy has nothing to do with that are all getting paid out of Wendy’s finances.”
Williams’ loved ones have called out the people claiming to have the 59-year-old’s best interest in mind several times. Most recently, in February they alleged the court-appointed guardianship she’s been placed under has kept her away from them. Williams’ niece, Alex Finnie, reportedly stated at the time:
“We’ve all seen the images over the last few months — and, really, few years — of what has seemed like a spiral for my aunt.”
Her sister Wanda Finnie expressed,
“The people who love her cannot see her…I think the big [question] is: How the hell did we get here?”
Sabrina Morrissey – Williams’guardian – made headlines a few weeks ago for the purported financial mistreatment of an individual formally under her care. According to court documents from the case, Morrissey played a hand in coercing a man to believe he needed to be placed under guardianship to receive his awarded 5.5 million in a personal injury claim.
The suit argued,
“Defendants have conspired to perpetuate a baseless guardianship over a ward named Jose Verdugo under the guise of protecting Verdugo’s best interest.”
The case was eventually dropped by the plaintiff, however, in August of 2023 without prejudice
