Candiace Dillard Bassett Is Leaving ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ After 6 Seasons: ‘This Is Not A Farewell, But A See You Later’

The Real Housewives of Potomac is down another reality star.

Candiace Dillard Bassett revealed she’s parting ways with the famous reality show. During an interview with PEOPLE, the singer said she’s about to “embark on a new chapter” after joining the cast in 2018.

She said,

“I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey.”

However, Candiace Dillard Bassett explained why she’s leaving RHOP.

“With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”

She also hinted that her departure may not be for long, as she stated,

“This is not a farewell, but a ‘see you later.'”

Moreover, Candiace Dillard Bassett also thanked fans, highlighting their “unwavering support” which the songstress said has been a “guiding light” for her.

She added,

“I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead—and, more importantly, to sharing them all with you!”

The “Drive Back” singer’s departure came after audio captured a heated exchange between her and Deborah Williams, a friend of RHOP star Ashley Darby. 

At first, it was unclear who started the altercation, but RHOP cast member Wendy Osefo weighed in and said that Deborah Williams was “1,000% at fault” for the situation.

While speaking on Watch What Happens Live, Wendy Osefo explained that Deborah Williams, 

“Came over looking for trouble, threw a drink, and all h*ll broke loose.”

Also this season, she continues to deal with the fallout with her former friends Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant. Last season, Gizelle Bryant alleged that Dillard Basett’s husband made her feel uncomfortable, when he allegedly wanted to speak to her in a hotel room alone with the door closed. Robyn Dixon initially defended Dillard Bassett against the claims, however, the latter called out Robyn Dixon for speaking about the allegations while choosing not to share cheating allegations about her own husband, Juan Dixon, on camera.  In turn, Dillard Bassett went off on Robyn via social media, leading to the demise of their close friendship.

In addition to her reality TV ventures, Dillard Bassett has also pursued music. She released her first album, Deep Space, in 2021. The TV personality has also dabbled in acting with roles in movies like 2020’s The Christmas Lottery, Cruel Encounters, We Go Deep, Water in a Broken Glass, and TV shows like Curvy Girls Rock.
