Jasmine Guy Becomes Emotional As She Recalls Tupac Shakur Telling Her ‘He Wasn’t Going To Live Past 25’
Jasmine Guy revealed she once had a chilling conversation with Tupac Shakur before his untimely death.
During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, the actress shared that the rap icon and activist told her he wouldn’t live past age 25 after he got out of prison in October 1995. Jasmine Guy said she didn’t overthink the conversation at that time.
“I always just thought he was talking sh*t all the time. ‘That’s legend, put that in the book.’ I was like, ‘N***a, I’m not writing a book about you.'”
The 62-year-old said she would tell Tupac Shakur to “stop” telling her stuff like that.
“‘I’d be like I’m never telling anybody anything about this experience.’ And he kept telling me — he was like 21 — and I really didn’t understand that world. He knew I wasn’t from it. I thought it was ridiculous for him to say he wasn’t gonna live past 25…so that hurt.”
Two years before the shooting that would claim his life, Tupac Shakur was shot five times during a robbery at Quad Studios in New York in November 1994. While he recovered, Jasmine Guy said the late top-selling artist lived at her home in New York.
“When he was with me, I thought I was helping him go to the next part of his life.”

Visibly crying, the Emmy-winning actress added,
“I was like, ‘You gonna go to prison and then get shot again?’ and I knew that second shooting…the wounds he had the first time were in his appendages, not in his lungs. I was so disappointed.”

Tupac and Guy met when he guest starred on the “A Different World” sitcom in 1993.

In September 1996, Tupac was shot while in a BMW car driven by Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight. According to reports, they were waiting at a stoplight in Las Vegas, Nevada, when a white Cadillac pulled up next to them and shot Tupac multiple times. He died days later at the age of 25.
