DDG Addresses ‘Petty’ Decision To DM His Ex Rubi Rose In Front Of Girlfriend Halle Bailey After An Argument: ‘The Whole Situation Was Taken Out Of Context’

DDG is clearing the air regarding his leaked text exchange between him and his ex Rubi Rose.

During a recent interview, rapper DDG clarified rumors surrounding Rubi Rose, 26, and his current girlfriend Halle Bailey, 24.

As previously reported, last year, the 26-year-old YouTuber found himself at the center of online drama after sending Rubi Rose a message via Instagram following an argument with Halle Bailey. Rubi shared a screenshot of the brief conversation to her X account and captioned the post,

“This is why im single”

In the new interview, according to DDG, he sent the text message to the “Big Mouth” rapper in front of Halle Bailey while they were going through a tough time in their relationship. He also admitted to being “petty” and despite asking Rubi about where she was, he claimed he didn’t have any intentions of actually meeting up with her.

DDG said,

“I feel like people thought that I was like sneakingly like, ‘oooh what you doing’ type sh*t and that’s when she posted it.”

He went on to express that social media users and fans took things even further.

“I feel like the whole situation was definitely taken out of context.” 

Despite their public fallout, the content creator shared that he was eventually able to reconcile his issues with Halle.

DDG added,

“During the whole situation it was just like, while I was getting cancelled on the internet after the screenshot came out we was already back cool. It was just like a quick little argument that went completely left. And we eventually got over that hump.”
