Drea Kelly Reveals Viral Dance For Beyonce’s ‘II Hands II Heaven’ Was Choreographed To Another Song: ‘Somebody Remixed That Video’
The internet can be a powerful thing.
Beyoncé’s eighth studio album “Cowboy Carter” has proven to be the gift that keeps on giving! It’s almost been a month since Beyoncé dropped the record, and listeners are still actively discussing the meanings behind the tunes and debating which one is the best. However, the 24th song on “Cowboy Carter” has received a little extra attention in the chats surrounding the project thanks to a viral dance from professional choreographer Drea Kelly.
Unless you forgot to pay your WiFi bill this month, there’s a strong chance you’ve seen Andrea “Drea” Kelly, ex-wife of R. Kelly, come across your timeline doing a seductive dance to Beyonce’s “II Hands II Heaven.” The dance has become so popular that even Beyonce’s protégé Chloe Bailey recently joined in on the fun by posting a video online performing the viral moves.

During a newly released interview with USA Today reporter Caché McClay, Drea Kelly revealed that she didn’t choreograph the routine to Beyonce’s song, but someone added the track to one of her old videos and reshared the footage online. She said,
“Oddly enough, somebody remixed that video. I do burlesque. So that original choreography is to Muddy Waters, ‘I Just Want to Make Love to You.’ Somebody put Beyonce?’s music on it and it fit perfectly.”
She continued,
“That choreography has been on my page. But, I want this to be a testament to people [that] your gifts will make a way for you. And I don’t care what anyone thinks, don’t think you’re too old, and don’t think your content is too old.”
Explaining where the moves originated from, Drea added,
“In Chicago, there’s a dance called the Percolator. So this move that everybody sees me doing is actually an old school, house-music dance, and it fits perfectly.”
Drea also shared that she has plans to choreograph original dances for her fans with songs from “Cowboy Carter.”
