Tiffany Haddish Reveals She’s Suffered 8 Miscarriages Due To Endometriosis, The Latest Being Last Year: ‘It’s So F*cking Devastating’

Actress Tiffany Haddish is getting candid about her ‘devastating’ experience of being diagnosed with endometriosis.

The TV and movie star revealed that she’s suffered 8 miscarriages in the past, seemingly due to the uterus disorder, with the most recent being just a year ago.

Tiffany Haddish, 44, spoke about her pregnancy loss during a recent interview with Janine Rubenstein from PEOPLE. Sharing her experience, she stated:

“It’s so f—ing devastating…Every time I find out I’m pregnant, I’m like, ‘Don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do nothin’,”

She continued:

“Even if I don’t really want [the baby], I still try to give it a chance.”

“It’s like, I won’t know why there’s so much blood. And then I go to the doctor and they’re like, ‘Oh, you’re miscarrying right now. And I just D&C (dilation and curettage, a procedure to remove pregnancy tissue).”

Along with the mental toll of her losses, Tiffany Haddish also spoke on the physical pain she’s endured. The entertainer explained that she’s had a history of excruciating menstrual cycles and was eventually told it was because of endometriosis, which also commonly causes infertility. She stated:

“I’m pretty sure the devil is real…the first day of my period, no matter what, the devil goes into overdrive. I feel like my life gets turned upside down,”

She continued:

“The pain is crazy…It feels like somebody is kicking me in my back.” 

Haddish went on to state that at first, doctors thought an ultrasound of her uterus showed that the organ had a dent in it. Recently, however, she learned it was actually the “endo hanging down.” She added that she’s since had a procedure to shave the extra layers down and remove any present fibroids.

As we recently covered, Haddish also spoke about prioritizing her health with the publication earlier this week, where she revealed she’s currently on a six-month run of celibacy and sobriety following her two DUI arrests. Though she did state, however, that she’s dating multiple men at the moment.
