Lil Wayne Could Be Called To Testify Against Young Thug In YSL RICO Trial
Rap veteran Lil Wayne may be required to testify in the YSL RICO trial.
Reports state that the New Orleans native could be called to the witness stand by prosecutors soon to speak about a shooting that both he and Young Thug were allegedly involved in.

As we previously covered, part of the YSL RICO trial sees prosecutors attempting to prove that Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, 32, coordinated a murder attempt on Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., 41, by ordering a hit on his tour bus in 2015. Prosecutors reportedly submitted video footage of the two arguing shortly before the incident as evidence, however, the presiding Judge Ural Glanville rejected the video footage in a recent court hearing. Explaining the decision, he stated:
“It seems like you all are trying really hard not to call [Lil Wayne] and that’s your choice…If you don’t call him, my ruling will stand on these particular exhibits that you are trying to introduce.”

At this time, it’s unclear whether or not prosecutors will change their approach to the situation or if they will subpoena Lil Wayne, essentially forcing him to appear in court. A report also noted that several other notable hip-hop stars remain on the prosecutors’ potential witness list, including Birdman, Rich Homie Quan, and YFN Lucci. As you may recall, Young Thug stands on trial accused of carrying out a series of gang-related crimes throughout Atlanta over a significant period of time, along with several of his YSL associates.
Atlanta rapper Gunna was also arrested on RICO charges but has since been released on bond after taking a plea deal. Though many suspected that the musician, real name Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, 30, would appear as a witness for prosecution after taking the plea, the “Drip Too Hard” artist has maintained that he has no intentions of testifying against Young Thug.
