Anita Baker was reportedly scheduled to perform at 7p.m. in Atlanta this past Saturday (May 11th) as part of a Mother’s Day special. However, after concert goers began piling into the State Farm arena they discovered that the 66-year-old actually would not be performing, sparking widespread criticism online.
One disappointed Anita Baker fan posted a video online sharing her frustrated reaction to the canceled performance, stating in a now viral video:
“I’m pissed! Anita bald headed a** done canceled the concert, I’ve been waiting for her since January!”

Online, another use added:
“Mood after driving downtown Atlanta in traffic to see Anita Baker in concert for Mother’s Day only for it be canceled! Pissed!”

Many others who attended the show shared similar sentiments, and even those who only heard about the cancelation chimed in, denouncing the celebrity over the situation.

At this time it’s unclear why the concert was canceled. No one from Baker’s team has commented publicly on the matter, and Live Nation only shared that that the show was pulled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” They also noted that concert goers would receive a full refund for their tickets.
