Update #2 (May 17, 2024): Kel Mitchell is grateful for his fans after he made alarming claims about his ex-wife Tyisha Hampton. 

Kel Mitchell shared a series of inspiring messages on Instagram early Friday morning (May 17) as his interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay continued to become a topic of conversation.

The All That alum, 45, wrote,

“Dear Everyone, I am deeply moved by the outpouring of love, personal stories, and breakthroughs you’ve shared after my Club Shay Shay interview. Your support means the world me. I will continue to pray for you, and please pray for me.”

He added,

“”The very experiences that you have resented or regretted most in life — the ones you’ve wanted to hide and forget — are the experiences God wants to use to help others. They are your ministry!” -Rick Warren”

He followed it up with similar messages, ending with one that reads,

“Healed people heal people.”

Update #1 (May 16, 2024): Kel Mitchell’s ex-wife Tyisha Hampton is firing back. She responded to his claims that she cheated for much for their marriage in the early 2000s, and became pregnant by multiple men.

She called out his “ridiculous lies” on TikTok, and said he refuses to “be accountable” for his own actions.

“Dude, are you okay? This is the story that I guess he’s been telling people, and I’m sure the story has morphed into five different men. I don’t even know. You’re trying to get people not to like me or think I’m some wh*re and that will somehow change the reality of what happened. That’s just now it works at all.”

She said she has “never cheated” on him and a DNA test has proven that he is the father to her children.

She also shared her thoughts on Kel Mitchell’s previous drug abuse issues, alleging that he was “sexually abused by people in the industry.”

Original Story: Kel Mitchell is letting it all out. On a recent episode of the wildly popular Club Shay Shay, hosted by Shannon Sharpe, the actor revealed his ex-wife, Tyisha Hampton, was impregnated by multiple men during their marriage. The couple married in 1999 and were divorced by 2005. 

During the interview, the former child star opened up about his upbringing, career, and once-strained relationship with Kenan Thompson. Things took a turn when Kel Mitchell began to divulge his private life.  

As Kel Mitchell discussed his process of dealing with relationships, death, and trust issues, he revealed that he married his now ex-wife Tyisha Hampton during a difficult time in his life.

Mitchell recalls,

“I ended up marrying my ex-wife because we had another baby. We had the abortion and then we had a baby… and she ended up telling me that the baby that was aborted wasn’t mine. Within that process, you already marry within a lie.”

When asked if the marriage between the two was ever the same after Tyisha Hampton’s bombshell revelation, Mitchell replied 

“No, this is the beginning. This started at the beginning. Within that process and that being known … Now I’m on TV. I don’t have time to process that.”

In another reveal the Good Burger star discussed a life-altering event.

Mitchell says, referring to his ex-wife and the birth of his daughter, Wisdom in 2017,

“She almost died during the pregnancy too. So that was a hard time. I remember some of the writers coming to the hospital. I thought they were bringing presents…. And they were like ‘Yo when can you be back on set?’” 

The Kenan and Kel star’s behind-the-scenes insight into his childhood and marriage was why he walked away from Hollywood at the peak of his career and why he “stuck around” in his marriage, he said. Mitchell also explained other factors of his broken union, describing the relationship as toxic. 

He says

“It was other times she has gotten pregnant… There was a thing where we weren’t having sex anymore. I knew what was going on.” 

Mitchell said his wife stopped coming home, and at one point he found her at a hotel with a friend who often came to their home while he was at work. Mitchell explained what led up to the incident, stating that he went looking for her one day.

“I got in the whip, went driving around, saw her whip. I saw it at the hotel. I go to the lobby, turns out the dude just came walking down the lobby about to go to the car. My car that she was driving. I’m like, ‘Oh, OK, what’s up? Take me upstairs.’”

Once in the hotel room, Tyisha Hampton tried explaining, but Mitchell said he was over it and walked out. 

The alleged deceit did not stop there. Mitchell also claimed that Hampton got pregnant yet again by another man but had a miscarriage, and said he once received a call from a man saying that he and Hampton wanted to be together. It was then the comedian filed for divorce. 

The family has made news before bringing their drama to light. In 2022, Hampton claimed she walked in on Nick Cannon in a cheerleading uniform with Mitchell in the room. The pair also share a daughter, Allure, who has accused Mitchell of being an absentee father, abandoning her for 10 years, and owing her mother millions in back child support.

Mitchell has remarried his current wife, Asia Lee-Mitchell, and they share two children.

It does not appear that Hampton has responded to Kel’s remarks yet.
