Cassie Breaks Silence After Disturbing Footage Of Diddy Brutally Attacking Her In 2016 Surfaces: ‘This Is Only The Beginning, Domestic Violence Is THE Issue’

Cassie is speaking out for the first time after disturbing footage of Diddy brutally assaulting her surfaced last week.

In an Instagram post shared Thursday morning (May 23), the singer and model wrote,

“Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”

She continued,

“Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”

“Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to take this matter seriously. My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in.”

For those going through similar situations, Cassie added,

“I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me. Thank you. Love Always, Cassie.”

In the video, released by CNN on Friday, May 17, Diddy is seen kicking, dragging and grabbing Cassie near the elevator of a hotel. Later, he sits down and throws a large object in her direction. The incident was detailed in Cassie’s lawsuit that she filed against Diddy last November, accusing him of sexually assaulting her, physically abusing her, and introducing her to drugs throughout their 10-year relationship. They reached a settlement for an undisclosed amount the day after she filed the lawsuit.

A 2016 surveillance video obtained by CNN shows Sean “Diddy” Combs grab, shove, drag and kick his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura during an altercation. This footage appears to matches allegations in a now-settled federal lawsuit filed by Ventura in November.

Diddy has since issued an apology on Instagram, stating that he was “disgusted” by his actions in the video.
