Doja Cat Blasts Her Dad, Actor Dumisani Dlamini, As A ‘B*tch’ & ‘Deadbeat’ Before Taking It Back: ‘JK Love You, I Was Mad’

Doja Cat seems to have conflicted feelings about her father, actor Dumisani Dlamini.

In an interesting Instagram post shared on Monday night (May 27), the “Say So” singer, 28, shared two photos, one of her smiling and gasping while wearing sunglasses, and another of someone appearing to have a wedgie while wearing a robe.

But it was the caption that left many wondering what was going on. Doja Cat wrote,

“Dad, lemme know when/if you need me to re-up your makeup cabinet cuz you a b*tch.”

At one point, she listed a handful of makeup brands her father could try, calling him “sis,” and writing,

“I got urban decay I got pat mcgrath labs i got fenty i got scott barnes, let me know. I got your back sis.”

She also called out one fan who commented that her remark was “disrespectful,” alleging that her father,

“gave me a lazy eye and dipped.”

She also replied to a few people who said her initial caption was out of line, telling one to,

“Go give the deadbeat a kiss on the lips for me.”

Later, she changed the caption of her viral post to,

“jk love you i was mad”

It’s not clear what sparked Doja Cat’s post and follow-ups, but she hasn’t been shy about airing out her grievances about her father. She told Rolling Stone in 2021,

“I felt confused, a little bit. It’s a little strange to see everybody else with their dad, and you didn’t even really have one.”

Still, the film star sang Doja Cat’s praises last year telling GQ South Africa

“I’m so proud of her for what she has achieved. I’m not surprised, because it’s in the blood. In fact, all my kids are very talented. I think South Africa as a whole should be proud of such a great talent coming from us.”
