‘Raising Kanan’ Star Malcolm Mays Seen Getting Escorted Out Of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Premiere In NYC: ‘Do You Know Who I Am? I Know You Don’t & That’s The F*ck*ing Problem’
The New York City premiere for Power Book II: Ghost ended early for fellow Powerverse star Malcolm Mays.
The actor, who stars as Lou-Lou in Starz’s Raising Kanan series, was seen getting removed from the event by local police officers. In the viral clip, shared by photographer @pictureswithq on TikTok, Malcolm Mays holds his hands up as several officers pull him from the building.
He says in one video,
“Don’t f*cking touch me, I’m trying to tell you.”
A bystander encourages him,
“King, don’t let them get the best of you.”
Malcolm Mays, who has also appeared in TV shows like Snowfall, Them, and Rebel, then gets into a verbal altercation with a man standing near the entrance, telling him that officers can’t protect him. Things get more heated when the man makes it clear, “I’m not scared,” and Malcolm walks toward him. Ultimately, Malcolm walks away, but not before leaving the officers and man with a few words. He tells on-site police that they’re “protecting the wrong” person and asks,
“Do you know who I am? I know you don’t, and that’s the f*ck*ng problem. You’re just listening to whoever the f*ck talks to you. When I talk to you, you don’t want to listen right? ‘Cause I’m a Black man.”
The clip ends with Malcolm telling someone to call for their car.

@pictureswithq later clarified that the incident was not scripted. The photographer later said in another video that the incident occurred after Malcolm walked out of the premiere and stood at the door. Security wanted him to move because they didn’t know who he was. After he allegedly refused, they then began to physically remove him from the entrance.
As of yet, Malcolm has not spoken out publicly on the incident.
