Update (June 28, 2024): Victoria Monét’s alleged half-sister, a woman named Zhanae, is sharing more of her side of the story when it comes to their father.

Zhanae blasted their dad on X (formerly Twitter) for being absent after Victoria Monét shared a sentimental photo of her and their father spending their first Father’s Day together. Now, Zhanae is revealing in a TikTok video how she came across the photo and her real thoughts about their dad allegedly abandoning her while bonding with the “On My Mama” singer.

She said her mother called her one day while she was sleeping, and when she called her mom, she was sent the photo of Victoria Monét and their dad. Giving her “back story,” she noted that she is currently 23 and was raised by her stepfather.

“I have never seen my biological father since I was may 3 years old. And when I saw him when I was 3 years old, it was only for like 20 minutes. Never heard from him on a birthday, never heard from him on a holiday, I never heard from him period.”

Going back to the photo her mom sent, of Victoria Mónet hugging their father, Zhanae said she was only aware of one other sister, who was older. Sending a message to her father she asked,

“How are you even comfortable knowing that you still have a kid out here that you’ve never even bothered to meet, never even bothered to see me, check on me, nothing. And not only that, so basically Victoria Monét is my half-sister? I’m glad she got a chance to meet him ’cause I never did. I’m glad she got a chance to spend time with him but to him … you will never receive your full blessings because you still have a kid out here that you don’t take care of.”

She also pointed out that she and Monét have similar noses before asking her father,

“What did I ever do to you for you not to be in my life? What did I do?”

She said she doesn’t want him to be in her life, but wants him to explain why he wasn’t present.

Original Story (June 27, 2024): A woman on social media is claiming that the man in Victoria Monét’s Father’s Day post is her father, who she hasn’t seen in over 20 years.

On Sunday, June 16, singer Victoria Monét shared a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter) featuring a picture of her and her father spending time together. She captioned the photo,

“Spending our first Father’s Day together ever. A real blessing! The little girl in me is so happyyyyy. Healing.”

In response, a woman named Zhanae claimed that the man in Victoria Monét’s post is also her father, “Anthony Detamoore.”

She tweeted,

“I’m glad you got a chance to meet him finally, I’m 23 and haven’t seen him 20 years of my life… and he’s never bothered to reach out to me. Wow ANTHONY DETAMOORE or however u spell it! So Victoria Monet is my half sister?”

Zhanae later defended her decision to call out her father publicly after receiving backlash.

She tweeted,

“I’m not even gone do it to you cause my good pol already on you .. but first of all I’m not ruining any moment if you watch my TikTok video u will hear me say I’m happy for her I’m glad she got a chance to heal because I never did.”

She continued,

“& 2nd off my story deserves to be heard too how dare u spend time with ur other kids on Father’s Day like u are bettering your life and u have other kids out here. And I have reached out when I was younger he was not interested so u think imma reach out again???”

While it’s clear Mr. Anthony has several estranged children, singer Victoria Monét shared on Angela Yee’s Way Up radio program last year that she met him for the first time in her twenties and found out she had a sister, likely distinct from Zhanae.

She stated,

“I was born an only child, but … I met my dad in my twenties … and I discovered that I have a sister.”

She described her sister as “beautiful,” but acknowledged the difficulty of processing all the new information about her family roots.
