‘Teen Mom’ Alum Bariki ‘Bar’ Smith Arrested On Kidnapping & Harassment Charges

Bariki “Bar” Smith is the latest reality TV star to end up behind bars.

According to reports, the Teen Mom alum was arrested on Sunday (July 7) in Henderson, Nevada. He’s facing second-degree kidnapping, coercion with threat of or use of physical force, contempt of municipal court, and harassment charges. Bar Smith is reportedly being held with a bail set at $35,000. The 27-year-old will appear before the judge on Friday (July 12) for a pre-trial custody status hearing, reports claim.

Full details on what exactly Bar Smith did to be arrested are limited at this time. If you’ve been keeping up with the MTV series he appeared on then you’re aware that Bar is the estranged husband of main cast member Ashley Jones, 27. The ex-couple met in 2015 and in 2017 they welcomed their daughter Holly into the world. They first appeared on reality TV in 2018 for the MTV spinoff series Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. Bar and Ashley Jones’ relationship reportedly came to a screeching halt in 2023 seemingly over cheating allegations involving Bar.

At the time of their split Bar posted (and soon deleted) a message on the breakup. He wrote on Instagram,

“I have had amazing times and learned so many things from Ashley. I will forever be grateful for everything but unfortunately, we have come to unforeseen issues and people grow apart. There is no specific blame being placed on either end but we had both respectfully agreed to part ways [and] continue with life unfortunately without each other I will always be there when I’m needed and so will she, but the time to separate has come.”
