Fandango Founder J. Michael Cline Leaves Behind Suicide Note Before Tragic Death [CONDOLENCES]
James Michael Cline, the co-founder of Fandango and a prominent figure in the tech and finance industries, tragically died on Tuesday, July 16, after falling from the 20th floor of The Kimberly Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. He was 64 years old at the time of his passing.
According to law enforcement sources, J. Michael Cline was discovered in a third-floor courtyard around 10 a.m. after apparently jumping from the hotel balcony.
The NYPD confirmed,
“Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious and unresponsive male with injuries indicative of a fall from an elevated position.”
Reports state that J. Michael Cline left a suicide note in his hotel room, expressing deep remorse:
“So sorry. I can’t explain the pain of f****** up this much. I love you all.”
Cline, an alum of Cornell University and Harvard Business School, was a notable entrepreneur known for co-founding Fandango in 2000 alongside Art Levitt.

The platform revolutionized the movie ticketing process by partnering with seven major theater chains.
Despite leaving Fandango in 2011, Cline continued to make significant contributions to various tech firms throughout his career.
He is survived by his wife Pamela Cline and their six children.
