Pete Davidson Enters Mental Health Facility After Busy Year & Recent Breakup
Pete Davidson has entered a mental health facility, marking another step in his ongoing effort to prioritize his well-being.
Media outlets confirm that the comedian and former SNL cast member is seeking treatment to focus on his mental health. While details about the facility and the length of his stay are not yet known, this decision comes after several of his comedy shows were canceled.
Pete Davidson, 30, had eight scheduled performances across the country over the next three months, all of which have now been canceled.
This follows a busy year where he performed over 200 stand-up gigs, worked on several film projects, and released his Netflix special, Turbo Fonzarelli.
In June 2023, he also sought similar help, demonstrating his continued focus on managing his mental health.
Pete Davidson has been open about his mental health journey. On the Real Ones podcast with Jon Bernthal just a few weeks ago, he shared:
“I always feel like the walls are going to close in or something’s going to be ripped out. I do a lot of trauma therapy trying to figure out why. PTSD from childhood.”
Reflecting on the trauma from his father’s death at the World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks, he said:
“My dad told me he was going to pick me up from school on 9/11. I got picked up by my mom; she didn’t tell me what was going on for like three days. She kept telling me, ‘Your dad’s at work.’ One night, I turned on the TV and saw my dad on TV, and they were saying, ‘These are all the firemen that are dead.’”
His recent decision comes amid personal changes, including a breakup with actress Madelyn Cline, whom he dated briefly after his relationship with Chase Sui Wonders and his high-profile romance with Kim Kardashian.
