Kanye’s Recently Fired Yeezy Designer Says Rapper Has ‘Lost His Mind’ & Is Surrounded By ‘Toxic, C-grade Losers’
Another person has come forward to share their issues with Kanye “Ye” West.
Many industry folks were shocked when news recently broke that Kanye West fired his key Yeezy designer Steven Smith after eight years of partnership. Steven Smith has stuck by Kanye West’s side through a lot, including the backlash that followed his 2022 antisemitic rants, which led to the end of Yeezy’s business relationship with Adidas. For those unaware, Steven Smith is a well-respected vet in the shoe game and has worked with several apparel companies including, Nike, Reebok, and New Balance.

One report even notes that he “led Yeezy through its golden age of design from 2016 onward.” Despite this, Kanye still decided to show Smith the door. It’s unclear what made Smith the latest to land on Kanye’s chopping block, but the firing has also seemingly ended the loyalty that he had for the Grammy Award winner. Speaking with another publication about his former boss, Smith said,
“[Kanye] lost his mind. The whole of Yeezy is circling the drain and this is just part of it. He has surrounded himself with toxic, C-grade losers.”
Reportedly, in addition to the firing, Kanye blocked Smith online. It’s speculated that the two businessmen stopped seeing eye to eye after Kanye announced plans to launch a YZY porn site. As previously reported, the business venture also caused Milo Yiannopoulos (Kanye’s YZY apparel chief of staff ) to resign.

As far as how he’s doing since being let go, Smith expressed,
“I’m in a very happy place with it all. I will certainly be a priceless asset to whoever I work with next. It’s all his loss and the result of his foolishness.”
