Kelly Osbourne Says Rehab Was ‘Like University On How To Be A Better Drug Addict’

TV personality Kelly Osbourne is sharing her critical thoughts on certain rehab centers.

Kelly Osbourne, 39, spoke about the matter as part of the documentary TMZ Investigates: Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring, which is centered around the Friends actor’s death due to ketamine overdose earlier this year.

After being asked if she has ever witnessed patients attempting to organize drug networks during her own rehab stints, Kelly Osbourne stated:

“Yea! First rehab I went to was like university on how to be a better drug addict…I’d learned so many tricks, so many things that I never even thought of from my fellow addicts that were in there.”

She continued:

“I’d also seen people threaten to leave until they got given what they wanted, whether it be Ambien for sleep or Valium for nerves — they would somehow end up getting it.”

Going on, Osbourne, who elsewhere revealed that she’s entered rehab at least 7 times, made alarming accusations against some rehab facility staffers. Alleging that addicts are often preyed on by workers, she explained:

“They’ll sit outside of AA meetings looking for weak and vulnerable people that they encourage to go and relapse so they can then pick you up again.”

She added:

“I swear on everything that it is true, and it is heartbreaking.”

Kelly has been open and honest about her drug and alcohol addictions in the past. During her Red Table Talk interview, she said she first got hooked on drugs at the age of 13 after being prescribed Vicodin following a “crazy surgery.” The daughter of rockstar Ozzy Osbourne and TV host Sharon Osbourne said her addictions just grew stronger in time, as she worked her way to Percocets and then heroin, as it was ultimately the cheaper option.

As we reported back in 2021, Kelly upheld her candid discussion about her struggle with addiction, admitting that she had relapsed after 4 years of sobriety and subsequently checked herself back into a rehab facility. The TV host shared at the time that she’s always striving to do better for herself, stating:

“This is something I am going to battle for the rest of my life…It’s never going to be easy.”
