Young Dolph Killer Says He Was Told He’d Get $40K For Shooting Rapper But Only Received $800
The man who confessed to killing Young Dolph claimed he hasn’t received all the money he’s owed for carrying a hit out on the late rapper in 2021.
A trial over the “Major” rapper’s death started on Monday, Sept. 23, and Cornelius Smith took the stand and gave his unfiltered account of what went down before he fatally shot Young Dolph.
While on the stand, he revealed that he killed the rapper for money on his daughter’s birthday because he wanted to “make it rain” for her. He also told the mother of his child the day before that he would gift her $10,000.
Lord, this case is absolutely heartbreaking.

During his testimony, Cornelius Smith detailed killing Young Dolph, allegedly with Justin Johnson, who has also been charged in the rapper’s murder. He said he was told Yo Gotti’s late brother Big Jook had a hit out on Young Dolph and was willing to pay a total of $100,000 for the rapper to be killed. He alleged that he and Justin Johnson agreed to do it together. They were going to split the $100,000 down the middle, and each give a third person, Hernandez Govan, $10,000, leaving him and Justin with $40,000 each.
However, after the shooting was complete, he received one payment of $500, followed by a payment of $300, before the payments stopped. Cornelius testified that he hadn’t received any more money.
