Young Dolph Murder Suspect Justin Johnson Has Been Found Guilty Of Killing Rapper, Sentenced To Life In Prison
Young Dolph murder suspect Justin Johnson has been found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and felon in possession of a firearm in the killing of the rapper, Memphis’ ABC24 News reports.
Johnson has been sentenced to life in prison.
As previously reported, on November 17, 2021, Dolph was fatally shot in Memphis while visiting Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies, a bakery he frequently visited whenever he was back home.
Two gunmen in a white two-door Mercedes-Benz gunned him down.
On January 5, 2022, police identified one of the suspects responsible for the murder as 23-year-old Justin Johnson, and issued a first-degree murder warrant. Another suspect, 32-year-old Cornelius Smith (who was arrested for the theft of the car used in Dolph’s murder[50]), was indicted on first-degree murder, weapons possession, and theft charges on January 11. The same day, 27-year-old Shundale Barnett, a passenger of the vehicle Johnson was driving, was also arrested. On January 12, Johnson and Smith were indicted on first-degree murder and other criminal charges, while Barnett was charged with being an “after-the-fact accessory”.
Dolph leaves behind two children with his partner, Mia Jaye.
